This video was made to say thanks to Tom Blair and the team at www.dci.org for putting together the highest quality recording of Drum and Bugle Corps ever! Mashed together in this video are a couple of segments of Carolina Crown and Blue Devils so everyone can hear the difference in sound between the corps (two distinct sounds), and Holy Name Cadets were on for the parts where I talk, including the end when I describe the Cadets as being angry at the end of one of their numbers. Since digital recording of DCI began, audiophiles have been wishing for access to recordings of the quality of these of DCI corps, mostly because of the large difference in the way the corps sound from real life to traditional DVD or CD recording. The DTS-HD 5.1 on this DCI Blu-Ray is a 4000kbit 48khz stream quality recording, with top notch quality maintained from recording to final output. The audio in this video is the audio from the Zoom H4N unit, and what it captured was exactly how that room sounds, right down to the slap that you can hear after the claps at the beginning.
